Designer Bridge Supplies
Tired of seeing the same designs of playing pads and score pads being offered by other bridge suppliers, we asked young designer Kate Knight to produce some beautiful, fun and fresh designs for Simon Lucas Bridge Supplies which we have used on playing cards, score pads and gift sets.
Kate’s Story
I was born and brought up in Edinburgh but my formal studies took me away from the city, firstly to Dundee and then to Galashiels in the Scottish Borders. After five years of studying in art colleges I returned home with an Honours Degree and a Masters Degree in design. I have been a freelance artist for almost ten years now and I currently live in an area of Edinburgh known as the New Town. My studio, which is only a twenty minute stroll away, sits in the shadow of Edinburgh castle.
I am very fortunate to be able to walk past beautiful gardens and amazing architecture on my way to work every day and this provides me with lots of inspiration for my artwork. Some of the designs I produced for Simon Lucas Bridge Supplies are based on scenes from New York, however, they could be likened to scenes I see in home town every day at this time of year, women out shopping and walking through the park, as well as flowers bursting into life.
